A Critical Evaluation of the Trajectory of the Current Knowledge with an Emphasis on the Conceptual and Historical Issues: A Case Study of Factors influencing Eating Behaviors

Introduction
Over the years, knowledge has been studied from varied perspectives to fulfill the underlying desires of the researcher or the research topic, leading to the formulation of various knowledge theories and models. The theories aim at establishing a step-wise analysis of various types of knowledge to understand their implications on everyday life. According to Scaglioni et al. (2019), seven types of knowledge would require an extensive study to understand their existence and use at different times. Higgs (2021) states explicit knowledge, tacit, procedural, a priori, a posteriori, declarative, and implicit knowledge whose application relies on conceptual perception. In other words, the application of any type of knowledge relies on the concept of its application and the intention for use. Despite the continued knowledge evolution, the concept still fits the deigned knowledge aspects, including cognitive, social, and biological knowledge categories. Hardcastle et al. (2020) classified knowledge under various theories, including positivism, relativism, ontological realism, postmodernism, social constructivism, and scientific realism.
According to Higgs (2021), scientific realism is a knowledge theory that states theoretical claims and observable facts contribute to the general knowledge about a subject. For instance, the knowledge coming from an experiment is a confirmatory aspect of the source, and the practicality of the knowledge is concluded. Further, social constructivism theory states knowledge is gained or created through human interaction. According to Higgs (2021), as people discuss ideas, they generate more facts about a certain topic as they expound more on the topic to make it easier to understand. Higgs (2021) claims in social constructivism, the parties aim to enhance the depth and width of the topic by increasing the understandability or increasing the volume of information on the same topic. This is achievable through distinctive research on similar publications on the same topic.
Unlike social constructivism, postmodernism knowledge theory states that knowledge is a product of a unique system; hence, contextual and constructed. Postmodernism theory suggests that one should objectively question everything that seems normal in society. For instance, it is believed that one should stay faithful to their partner; why so? From a postmodernist aspect, anything is inherently morally questionable in an objective way (Hardcastle et al., 2020). Further, the ontological realism theory states there are no objective facts (). According to this theory, nothing in the world can answer moral concepts. In addition, there are no distinctive facts that render moral judgments objectively true (Scaglioni et al., 2019).
