Question 1: Explain FOUR main differences between HPLC and GC, excluding financial dissimilarities.
FORMTEXT 1. The mobile phase in the HPLC a liquid of organic solvent such as the ultrapure water while the mobile phase in the GC is a gas such as the nitrogen, helium, and argon.
2. HPLC column is short about six inches tightly packed with silica while the GC column is coiled ranging to about 100 feet depending on the need of the lab.
3. GC is suitable in analyzing volatile samples while the HPLC is ideal for analyzing less volatile compounds.
4. The temperature of the column in the GC is varied by a computer device to improve the outcome while the temperature of the HPLC is always kept constant.
